Meet the Team!
Dr. Lowry went to Medical School at University of Health Sciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, graduating in 1996. He did his pediatric training at Children’s Mercy Hospital and completed his residency in 1999. Dr. Lowry is a board-certified pediatrician with 27 years of pediatric experience, the last 17 years being in the Platte City area.
Dr. Lowry and his wife Laura, have six children and many "4 legged" children at home. In their free time they enjoy traveling and attending various sporting events (Go Knights Go !)
David Lowry, DO, FAAP
Jennifer Sample, MD
Dr. Jennifer Sample is a board certified pediatrician and medical toxicologist. She comes to Platte County Pediatrics after practicing in academic medicine for over 20 years. She currently lives in Platte City with her husband and grown children.
Due to her love of children, Kim always knew she wanted to do pediatric nursing, which lead to joining the highly rated LPN program through Hillyard Technical Center in St. Joseph, MO. She has now been a nurse for 20+ years, working alongside Dr. Lowry. Kim enjoys attending her children’s sporting events and spending time with her family.

Seth – Medical Assistant
Seth has been in the medical field since 2003 and has worked with Dr. Lowry since 2013. Seth has a multitude of experience and a way of connecting with patients. In his free time he enjoys playing the piano and teaching music!
Alyssa – Access Representative
Alyssa started interning in the medical field in 2018 and decided to pursue Pediatrics in 2021. She is currently a Junior in college, studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During her free time, Alyssa likes to spend time with her loved ones and two dogs named Archie and Bodhi.
In 2023, Emily became a member of our team, having previously worked in elementary education for a number of years. She holds degrees in both Marketing and Zoology, which prove useful in her care for her six pets. Emily enjoys spending her free time with her family and taking part in trivia competitions.
Emily – Acess Representative
Amy is an AAPC Certified Biller with over 18 years of experience in medical billing and coding in pediatrics. Amy is from the St. Joseph MO area and the mother of 4 children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her new grandson or with her family.
